This is a beautiful one!! I took a course in college on Greek orthodox icons, and found it so fascinating :) This type of "pose" between Madonna and Child is called the "Hodegetria"- which means that Mary is leading the way for us. And quite literally, in the pose, you can see her fingers resting right around the Sacred Heart of her Son. Everything was very intentional for these iconic artists.
